"It was worthwhile, but probably not in the way it was supposed to be. I had to learn to deal with culture shock on top of my program being a mess. I love, love, love Istanbul and I cannot recommend coming here enough, but please go on a different program. "

"I gained a greater understanding of different cultures, not just of the host country, but of other Americans, and other countries. I learned how to use safely use public transportation methods to travel around. "

"Definitely worthwhile! I've grown very self-reliant. "

"I learned a lot about myself, about people, and not just about the Spanish culture, but the European culture itself. I definitely became more independent, and more mature. My mind is a lot more open to a lot of different beliefs when it comes to love, friendship and politics, and I am a lot more trusting in humanity. I realized ..."

"This was my second semester abroad. I did another program and had a wonderful experience. This program was nothing but disappointment for me. The university is a bit of a joke. You only meet other international students as you are kept separate from the local students. Classes are not worth attending. I spent my semester traveli..."

"My primary reason for choosing the Oxford Study Abroad Programme was my intention to eventually study philosophy at the graduate level. I can safely say that I learned more philosophy in eight weeks at Oxford than I had learned in a year and a half at Pacific. I was surrounded by extremely motivated and intelligent students, whi..."

"I gained the ability to have confidence in my Japanese speaking ability. It was definitely worth coming to Japan."
Jolie T University of the Pacific
"This experience was mainly about self-reflection for me. I learned a lot about what i need to improve, political views, filosophical views. I learned that i need to be more critical about certain things. Students im Brazil seem to be more opinionated and critical of global issues more so that most of the american students i've m..."

"I'm taking many lessons back with me from my time here but one thing I really think impacted me was the level of responsibility so much freedom has. You have to manage your time and money all while exploring a brand new country away from everyone you know. And it's totally worth it. "
Michele G University of the Pacific
"I learned so much more about myself, what the world has to offer and about how differently people live. It was almost completely opposite from how I live at home, which made me realize some things that I will need to change once I get back. Being away from family was the hardest part, but what got me through was the fact that I ..."

"I learned a lot about how a country can make the rapid transition from communism to capitalism in 20 years. Also, I learned that of all the places I have been (nearly every major city in Western Europe) Prague is definitely one of the most beautiful. "
Mike E University of the Pacific
"I gained an ability to be more independent. It was worth it because I was able to learn more about myself and what I want for my life. "
A student University of the Pacific
"I think the experience was worthwhile. A lot of what I learned/gained was things about myself- things like being able to get through stressful situations or being able to communicate better than I thought myself able to. "
A student University of the Pacific
"I learned a lot about how to learn from different teaching styles and I wouldn't change anything about my semester abroad."
Scott V University of the Pacific
"Learned how to take a step back and actually enjoy life, rather than having a perpetual goal at all times. Also learned how to create lasting friendships and how to truly care for people that are in your life, even if they are just the people serving you cappucinos every day. "
Sam K University of the Pacific
"Gained important friendships, experienced homesickness for the first time, and now I have a feeling that I am ready to graduate from school, and ready to move on to the wider world and keep exploring. "
Alyssa J University of the Pacific
"It was very much worthwhile. I gained greatly improved spanish skills, incredible travel experiences, good friends, a great relationship with a host family, deep cross cultural experiences, and new understanding. Also gained more simplistic perspective of what one needs in life."

"Of course, it was very worthwhile, but the country itself as difficult and very challenging to live in."

"I gained good friends, a greater Chinese ability, a chance to live on a beautiful island. "
Maxwell K University of the Pacific
"I learned European education is totally different and I don't learn well that way. I need assignments and test to force me to learn instead of having just a final exam. I was able to fix alot of personality issue I had with myself."
