"I really loved meeting new people and through this experience have become far more outgoing than I was before. I am also more confident with my language skills. While Berlin is not everyone's favorite city (it does not represent what most people expect when they think of Europe), it is a great city for being young."

"It was an interesting, but not necessarily worthwhile experience. I am somewhat glad I experienced it, but I am not pleased with the monetary cost it took to have it. I felt constantly out of place in Berlin (as an American and as an Asian) and I was incredibly disappointed by the fact that we were not able to take many/most of ..."

"I've gained a lot more self-confidence in expressing my thoughts and opinions after being frequently needing to speak up in my seminars no matter if I felt that I was not able to always speak in German as well I wanted to. I think was worthwhile overall."

"A ton about the Maori Culture and Geology, also that no one works as hard or cares as much as Wellesley students. YES"
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile! I learned about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica and a lot about issues in sustainability, ecotourism, etc. I got a feel for the field of field biology and I met amazing students with great ideas. I had a great time, overall."

"I think this has be the most challenging and rewarding year of my life. I would do this year over in a heartbeat, but I would definitely do things differently. I learned so much not only about other cultures and language, but also about myself. Keep trying to make friends, even though it's hard. Persevere. "

"I feel like I'm more adaptable to different learning situations and more independent."

"I learned how differently my programs could be taught. UK programs encourage students to read a sea of documents. They give a very good survey of the current literature. But the paper or project topics are not as flexible as in the US. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile because it taught me how to live with other people and how to be strong in a foreign country where you don't speak the language as well"
A student Wellesley College
"Absolutely! It was the best experience of my life to date. I gained independence, confidence in myself and my ability to speak another language, cross cultural boundaries, and the opportunity to travel!"
A student Wellesley College

A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile, I learned a lot about myself and how different cultures interact. I also learned how much I can handle in terms of frustration and culture shock and generally living in a developing country. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a higher knowledge and appreciation for art history. It was a worthwhile experience because I studied the art and then go to see it in the museums. London has a lot to offer when it comes to arts."
A student Wellesley College
"So worthwhile, it was amazing! I became more open minded and aware of the world. "

"I plan to work in Korea in the future, so it was great to really live there for an extended period to get used to regular life, school, work etc. My Korean skills improved a lot and my general skills at managing life on my own also improved. I am confident I can manage myself living in a foreign country, and I feel prepared to l..."

"While the quality of my math classes at Wellesley tend to be much better than that of math classes in Budapest, it was cool to be taking four math classes in one semester (double the amount I would normally take). It was also a novel experience to be solely in the company of people whose love for mathematics bordered on fanatici..."

"I learned what it really feels like to be colonized (however vicariously) and to live in poverty. I came to understand how you must first go into a place and ask what they need, and work with the local system, for aid to be effective, and how you must allow people access to resources, even while you are trying to protect them, b..."
