"I was able to travel all over Europe and experience living in a new country/city. Although I felt that a lot could have been improved about the education aspect of my time abroad, I overall really enjoyed being in London and being abroad for a semester. "

"I had a great time in Manchester and learned a lot about a) how I learn b) British culture and c) the type of institution I prefer. I loved getting to know other people, exploring a new city, and the opportunity to travel around Europe. I also got to explore new classes and subjects that aren't available at Wellesley. It was abs..."

"I improved my critical thinking and writing skills by writing 2 essays each week and discussing my argument with a tutor. I learned about other cultures and countries. I learned that food is as much a nourishment activity as a social one. I realized the joy of learning from reading books—in print. "

"I learned that I'm tired"

"Apart from just the new math knowledge, I got to travel and experience many new cultures and languages and "broaden my horizons," to be cliche. I am so glad I went; it was definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained language skills, cultural experience, new friends, and learned to be more independent, so I'd definitely say it was worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I don't think it was particularly worthwhile for me. In the classroom I do not feel like I learned that much, if anything it was that I do not like IR and prefer rooting my work in my home-place. However, I sometimes learned strategies from the places we went to that I will hopefully use at home. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that Oxford is an atypical study abroad experience. If you want to travel to 10 different countries during the semester, then this probably isn't the place to be. However, if you want to integrate into a new community and embrace all of the resources available to you, then Oxford is the perfect university to attend. Ma..."

"I learned that other schools do things different from Wellesley so we don't have to take things we don't like about Wellesley at face value because we can try to change them, because other schools are doing it. I.e. a more active college government, more active social life and activist culture"
A student Wellesley College
"I improved my Spanish skills significantly, learned about Chilean culture, and enjoyed the courses I took. It was definitely worthwhile. "

"I got to go to some very cool places."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to be far more independent than before -- I was living on my own with other UCL students as flatmates, cooking for myself, figuring out everything... And meeting so many new people from all over the world really helped me develop a global perspective. Some of my classes were really interesting and helped pique new inte..."

"Arabic skills, cultural knowledge, political awareness, friends"
A student Wellesley College
"This was probably one of the most enlightening 4 months of my life. It was so worthwhile. DIS had a great balance of academics and free time for exploring. Often, courses took a culturally relevant approach, allowing me to experience my subject in a way I never could have imagined."
A student Wellesley College
"#1 was language development but also confidence that comes from living further from home and navigating life in a new culture and new language."
A student Wellesley College
"Very worthwhile. Learned alot about London as an international city. "
A student Wellesley College
"The roommates and teachers are amazing and you'll want to keep in touch. The language study is intense, but you'll make a lot of progress."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about myself, I conquered a lot of fears, and I realized many things that I was grateful for back home that I had taken for granted."
A student Wellesley College
"My Spanish got a LOT better. I learned I can make a life in a new place and that it's ok to feel super challenged and make mistakes and learn from them... I also learned that being uncomfortable in a situation is ok (obviously as long as it's safe). It's good to be in new positions even if they aren't familiar."
