"It was so incredibly worthwhile. I learned a lot of advanced organic chemistry and organometallic synthesis and gained a lot from research experience. I met people from all over the world and saw a lot of Europe, taking advantage of my convenient location. Music, art, ultimate frisbee, clubs, beer, good food, good people, lan..."

"Studying abroad in the Turks and Caicos was a very worthwhile experience. I loved the opportunities for experiential learning and field work, as well as the opportunity to conduct research."

"I learned a lot about Hungarian culture and language. I really enjoyed learning about how mathematics is taught in Hungary and how different their approach is to ours."

"I think the most important things I gained from studying abroad were that I got to see the places I had learned about and I now feel confident going abroad, even by myself. "

"This semester helped me to re-access the importance of a balanced life."

"I got the opportunity to have a fun and what I am describing as a pseudo-independent experience. I say that because while I did live with a host family and had professors and staff who were invested in my well-being, comfort, and happiness, I also had the opportunity to explore an entirely new country mostly alone. I was able to..."

"If you want the kitchen clean, you have to do it yourself, and that's okay. Living with boys is *incredibly* annoying, and I do not miss them one bit now that I'm back at Wellesley. Edinburgh public libraries only let you check out 12 books at a time, and that's unfortunate, but there's 27 of them to explore, which makes up for ..."

"I learned that I want to return to study in Sweden after I graduate from college."

"I learned that I should be grateful for the opportunities I have had education-wise, because clearly many other American students are not nearly as well-informed as me. I know this sounds elitist of me, but when someone, for example, asks if Margaret Thatcher was an actress (and believe me, comments like that were very common in..."

"I made a lot of new friends. The UK education is very different from US, its a little more strict and requires a lot more writing."

"It was absolutely worthwhile. I have gained only wonderful things from this program. My friends and family have noticed—I am a more confident, self-assured person. I've always been adventurous and loved to travel, but never able to visit another country, and my year abroad was everything I hoped it would be. My priorities and go..."

"Studying abroad was fundamental in my understanding of the Italian language and culture. It was a worthwhile experience that allowed me to experience a completely different culture and environment than I had been exposed to from a student's point of view. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to be uncomfortable. It‘s awkward to not be fluent in the language of a society. In addition to language, there‘re cultural differences too. "
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely worthwhile. I learned a new language and learned to live and LOVE the Italian way of life and the people."

"At HKU, I got to have a very different educational experience, meet a lot of great people, and grow to love the city of Hong Kong."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to be more independent. I had never cooked for myself before so that was a challenge but it was fun to learn. I also learned how to manage money, especially traveling expenses, and gained some lifelong friends from all over the US and Great Britain. I went to St Andrews after an emotionally tough fall for me and wh..."
