Overall Experience
Language skills, new friends, and I also learned a lot about myself. Definitely not the easiest semester for me personally but worthwhile. - Fordham University View Entire Review
I think the fact that I made 0 French friends my entire time there says it all. Paris was a great place to study, but IES Paris is not a good program in any way, and I strongly advise against it. I had just done IES Tokyo and loved it so I was shocked that it was so different; I should have done more research. - Austin College View Entire Review
Past Review Life In Paris
From this experience in Paris I gained a new perspective of the world and my life. Before I studied abroad I was unsure of what I wanted to do in terms of a major and minor in college. After studying abroad I know that I really want to use and improve my knowledge of the french language in the pursuit of a career with my polit... - Fordham University View Entire Review

I learned a lot of french, learned a lot about a culture I had no idea about, and I learned about how to integrate myself when I don't know anyone/anything/am not even familiar with the language. It was a challenge that has truly helped me shape who I am today. Additionally, it allowed me to see the roots of modern civilization ... - Pomona College View Entire Review
Past Review Paris Je T'aime!
I gained a ton of confidence and I became more independent. My French improved greatly and it was definitely worthwhile. - University of Vermont View Entire Review
The language part was challenging. It's a wonderful program for the students with a strong French background. Classes are all in French, so I struggled a little but I really improved a lot. - Trinity University View Entire Review
It was incredibly worthwhile. I had never been overseas and realized that people in Europe have such a different way of living than we do in the west. I would love to go back and pursue my masters there or possibly look for work. It truly is a life changing experience! - Trinity University View Entire Review
This trip has been an incredible addition to my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Even almost four months after the end of my program, I am planning a return trip and aspire to teach English abroad. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Yes! It greatly improved my confidence in my French abilities and was a great cultural experience. - Indiana University - Bloomington View Entire Review
All my French friends said I know more about Paris than they do. I was able to visit old monuments and countless museums. I leanred why the French are so prideful (because of their rich cultural background). I fell in love with the people and the city and am moving back there to teach English. - University of the Pacific View Entire Review
Definitely. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I think that studying abroad made me think about the world in a different way. I really enjoyed seeing how the French live their lives. They take the time to appreciate art and culture more than we do in America. Obviously not everyone, but I definitely felt different in Paris and would love to live there one day. I have the sam... - Fordham University View Entire Review
I learned a lot, mostly about myself. I would love to go back to Paris for an extended time but have found this to be very difficult. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I learned a lot about how to learn from different teaching styles and I wouldn't change anything about my semester abroad. - University of the Pacific View Entire Review

I learned about myself, particularly my perseverance. I gained self-confidence, improved language skill and skills needed to live in a big city. - Santa Clara University View Entire Review
The distance from familiarity and complete engulfment into another very different culture caused me to reflect consistently on my life and how my interactions, and this of others, affect the world. I learned what to value in one culture and what to learn from certain values that did not correlate with my ideas. I learned how thr... - Trinity University View Entire Review
I gained an entirely new perspective on my own history and world events, as well as people and politics. It was a very worthwhile challenge. - Ithaca College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about myself. I learned how to manage my money with my parents. I learned to navigate a city easily. I learned depend on myself in a new environment. I definitely plan to return to France and learn more about the culture and myself in the future. - Spelman College View Entire Review
My personal goal was to be more familiar with the french culture and spending time in france allowed me to do just that. I met many great people (unfortunately not French people in the mots part). - Trinity University View Entire Review
Past Review Super Fun!
Yes it completely was. I can now say I lived in Paris. I experience some awesome things and made some awesome friendships. I really had a great time! - Trinity University View Entire Review
