I hadn't traveled before so I think it was really great to just be somewhere other than the U.S. and get to know the culture/political climate/way of life. I also was able to travel all over Europe for not very much money, which was awesome. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Studying outside of an established program meant that I was on my own, more or less. While this was daunting at first, I appreciate how it forced me to step outside of my comfort zone. It was definitely worthwhile. I loved being a student in London, and felt very connected to the city. Eloisa C - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I really really really loved London it was such a great city filled with amazing people and things to do. I did not really like my experience at UCL, I wish I had chosen a different university. The classes were a bit too heavy/boring in my department and a lot of classes at too many American study abroad students. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
independence, so much traveling, absolutely worthwhile, would choose london again just not UCL A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Absolutely a worthwhile experience. I would encourage everyone to study abroad! I learned how differently professors teach in the UK, and it seemed that they valued interaction with their students more than my home university professors do, which I enjoyed. I got to meet and live with people from different cultures, which was ve... A student - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Even though I felt I was already independent, I definitely became even more confident in my ability to take care of myself. I learned a lot about living in a city, which I appreciated after living in the suburbs my whole life. I learned to appreciate my surroundings and really embrace new experiences, even more so than I have do... A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
London was just as colorful, international, and fun as I thought it would be. I learned how to adapt to a new culture and I even took on a research position!. I feel more comfortable navigating a large city and I learned a lot about the UK and even America from a global perspective. A student - Stevens Institute of Technology View Entire Review
Living and working in a city. So worthwile. Grad school. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Choosing to study abroad in London is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I was a direct-enrollment student at University College London (UCL) through IES. Direct-enrollment is different from most study abroad opportunities, as you are treated like a home student at your host university. It was great to partake in studies ... I'm glad I went, but UCL was not a good fit. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My favorite part was traveling. I would choose a different program if I could do it all over again just so I could improve on my French or Spanish, but this is just a matter of personal goals / preference. Living in London was super fun as well. Seowoo L - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about living independently, and I also learned a lot about international life - both living abroad, and making international friends. It was most definitely worthwhile! I absolutely loved it. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned that I love living in a city. I also had an amazing volunteering experience working for a charity that visits homes for the elderly with dementia. Elise C - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned how to adapt to a new environment and a new way of learning. Abby E - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Attending UCL allowed me the opportunity to experience higher education in a very different context -- large school, urban setting, and different country. I learned from leading experts in my fields of interest and had the opportunity to conduct research with graduate students. I also learned about budgeting, time management, pr... I gained an experience in independent living and got the chance to explore London and other European cities/countries on my own terms. It was definitely worthwhile, and I would recommend this experience to people interested in getting a more independent experience not dictated by a program or their home university. I fell in love with London and learned so much by being at a British university with such different academics. It was definitely worthwhile and made me want to move to London after college. A student - Barnard College View Entire Review
yes I loved my experience but UCL had too much work A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Oh goodness isn't this an open-ended question. Was it worthwhile? Most definitely yes. What did I gain? Lots of things. I'm sure that if you're reading a review about studying abroad, you already know by now the values in 'broadening your horizons'. And me harping on that will take too long. But I suppose it will happen inevi... A student - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I learned a good deal about how to live on my own and deal with immediate, novel life problems without much support. I also was able to use the different context to better understand my own motivations and goals and what I really wanted from myself. A student - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
London itself was very stimulating and enjoyable. The program was just alright. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I learned a ton about being independent and being able to do everything on my own. It was an incredible experience traveling around Europe and living in London on my own.
