Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.
Study Abroad with Direct Enrollment/Exchange
"Absolutely it was worthwhile. I made friends from all over the world. I saw differences in my worldview and theirs based on our respective upbringings. I learned about European history and saw the beauty of Spain. I learned what I enjoy and what makes me happy. I grew a lot, even if I am still working on how to transfer what I l..."

"I learned A LOT about myself and what I need as a person. I need a community, I need a support system, I need people to share experiences with. Not all the time - as I knew as a self proclaimed independent before departing - but there is a difference between valuing alone time and living off of it. I also became an amazing write..."

"Definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself, what I'm comfortable with, what makes me happy. I gained experience with a different method of schooling from a large university - something I never would've been exposed to if I hadn't gone abroad. "
A student Middlebury College

"My study abroad experience allowed me to learn how to be on my own in a new environment. I was able to take responsibility in myself that I was never really able to before. Not only that, but I was able to experience a new culture while I was at it and see a different way of living. It was amazing. "

"This experience was worth more than I can even describe. It was expensive, yes, but it showed me that I want to spend my money on experiences like these: experiences that I will remember forever. "New perspectives on other civilizations. I had never been so exposed to Asian culture in that way. I traveled to many countries in Asia and their way of living is drastically different from how it's like in North America and Europe.
