Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learned that different schools have different academic systems that we should integrate into for the semester. If Middlebury does not approve of the St. Andrews grading system and translation, then Middlebury should not let students attend St. Andrews. It is unfair to deflate the grades. "

"I absolutely loved my time at the LSE. I was pushed academically and personally, and I was able to see much more of Europe than I had anticipated. While certain aspects of the LSE's academic system--like its exam-oriented structure--were overwhelming at times, I was able to find the support I needed from other LSE students and f..."

A student Middlebury College
"I learned an immense amount about the culture, and I found I really knew the city like the back of my hand upon leaving. I loved my classes and found it enlightening to see how European schools treat academics so differently."

I learned what friendship really is, how others see the world around us, and what the world has to offer. The world is not a bubble, ..."
Ryan Mascheri The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how incredibly fun exploring a new place is, and how to be myself and stand on my own, without the comforts of old friends and family. I learned more about myself, and how to build a community in a new place. It was absolutely worthwhile, I almost think going on exchange/studying abroad should be mandatory, especially ..."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a better sense of how that particular culture worked. The cooking experience and realizing that there diet is more vegetable based, rather than meat based like America. I definitely believe this experience was worthwhile."
