Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learned how to budget and support myself more efficiently. I also learned so much from the British and International friends I made. We shared many cultural traditions and experiences with one another. I made life long friends in London that I feel very comfortable visiting any time and that I still talk to today!"
Abby O Wellesley College

"I learned a ton about Japanese culture, Japanese language, and myself. Being immersed in a new culture and having everything that was familiar to me taken away really gave me an opportunity to see who I really am without all of that. It was also very interesting to be able to view American culture from a different culture's poin..."

"The experience was definitely worthwhile. "It is very difficult for me to put my feelings about this trip into words. I had the most amazing, life changing experience. I learned so much about myself, my friends, and what kind of person I want to be. Before going to Ireland I always felt in a rush, frantic, and never had the chance to take a breath. Dublin taught me to ca..."

Audrey E The University of Texas at Austin
"It was worthwhile, for sure. Classes taken in Spanish are way harder then taking Spanish language classes. Think twice about that."
mheap3 The University of Texas at Austin
"Oh goodness isn't this an open-ended question. Was it worthwhile? Most definitely yes. What did I gain? Lots of things. I'm sure that if you're reading a review about studying abroad, you already know by now the values in 'broadening your horizons'. And me harping on that will take too long. But I suppose it will happen inevi..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
