Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I loved going abroad because I learned about Anthropology which I never had done before in school and I learned about myself. Living with strangers for a extended period of time helps you learn about yourself and things you need to change in your life. "

"My study abroad experience was great I experienced a huge disapointment with my home school. When I decided to stay another semester they were not very responsive when I tried to e mail them with questions. At first they were, but after the initial e mail about what I need to do, they ignored my e mails and I wouldn't get any re..."

"Everything was worthwile to do, even getting to do not so fun things or experience. I believe that any experience, either good or bad, will stay as memories that are going to be with you for ever. "It was among the best experiences of my life. If I had to do it again, I would have enrolled via a study abroad provider, like CIEE, since their program administration helps you avoid the hassles I encountered prior to arrival. I also would have lived with my friends if possible. Otherwise, I'd return in a heartbeat."
Jacob P Tufts University
"Yes."
Lauren C Kansas State University
"It gives you a perspective on yourself and the world that you had never expected to gain (nor knew you were lacking). Limit your contact with fellow Americans and surround yourself with locals and other internationals; it'll pay off for you in more ways than can be explained here."
Michael R University of Wisconsin - Stout
"I learned to be much more independent and self-reliant. I was used to living on my own, which I think made a big difference in my experience -- I knew how to cook and supply myself adequately. I learned I don't really like cities, large universities, or being alone all that much, which is great to know; I also gained a lot of c..."

Erica T Illinois State University
"It changed my cultural awareness in a big way. You don't realize so many things about other cultures until you leave. You also get to see how people from other countries view Americans. There are some countries that are brought up only knowing the bad things about the US and have a certain type of person in their mind. They are ..."
