Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"It was very much so worth while. I was able to attain a decent speaking level of Japanese, make plenty of friends from both Japan and around the world, and in the end I hope to return to Kansai University at least once during my next stay in Japan!"

"My study abroad experience was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only was I able to sink myself into another culture, it also helped me understand my own culture, where I come from and how I can change. I also proved to myself, and more importantly my mother, that I can be by myself in another country for a longer ..."

"Yes it was definitely worthwhile. I've made some friends I know I will keep in touch with for life and I definitely believe it has changed the direction of my career choices. It has helped me narrow down my field of interest and made me even more determined to succeed in that field. Seeing the passion of the faculty and students..."

"It was incredible, overall. Yes, I had some difficulties, and yes, there were some things that I disliked, however-- It was amazing!! The only thing that I would change, was my own personal commitment to learning the language. "
Taylor D The University of Texas at Austin
"Definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about how other countries view America, about the history of Europe, how to be independent and travel efficiently on my own without the benefit of a car, about Germany's culture and language and gained some new understanding about how I'd fancy living my life."
Christina Barrera Maryland Institute College of Art
"Was my study abroad experience worthwhile? Yes yes yes and YES! The program was not perfect and I have some beefs with the way the administration was set up, both in Italy and at my university, but I had such an amazing time, met amazing people, saw amazing things... How many people can say they've eaten lunch in the ruins of a ..."

"My mind has been opened to conceptual thinking, and I finally feel more in touch with myself as a person in relation to the art that I produce. I found a culture and my niche in it, and I am eager to return and share my talents abroad for a longer period of time. That being said, I think 5-months is too short for anyone going ab..."

"I gained self confidence and maturity knowing that I could enter a country knowing very little of the language and knowing nobody, and yet I flourished despite it all. I have a better grasp of the world, different politics, and people in general. My art is also much better because I got the chance to take my time on projects and..."

"My mom wanted me to come back to Korea for a semester because she wanted me to be set with my future plan after graduating from college. "Overall, I'm glad I got to go to Europe. I learned a lot about myself and others. However, if I were to do it again, despite my fears, I would have gone by myself or with a small group--certainly not twenty others! I felt very smothered in such a large group. However, I had a great time traveling by myself, especially in Amsterd..."
