Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Studying abroad is a must for every student. Not so much for the studying, but for traveling and meeting people and immersing yourself in a culture that is completely different. I learned so much from real life travel."

Elizabeth G SUNY - Binghamton
"I must say, my abroad semester in Zurich, Switzerland was the most valuable time in college experience so far, due to all the new things I got to experience, live through, and learn from. I must say, time spent abroad is a part of school of life; more goes in to one's individual standing in life than to one's career as a student..."
ELCIN M SMFA - School of the Museum of Fine Arts
"My study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. My classes and professors were amazing. The resources of University of Leeds are amazing. The central location of Leeds is amazing. And my traveling outside of the UK was AMAZING. My biggest hurdle was just that it turns out that I'm a small school kind of person and Leeds Un..."

"Yes it is something I recommend to everyone. You learn things about other cultures and gain an education that can not be taught in a class room."
Lisa S SUNY - Binghamton
"It was extremely worthwhile and i would do it all over again in a heart beat."
Lauren F SUNY - Binghamton
"It was absolutely worthwhile. I was able to see how other countries operated, both in the university and in the real world when it came to hospitality. Traveling really helped to open my eyes to different kinds of people and how to handle situations when I'm on my own after school."
Marie b University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"I really learned what people thought of America in general. They tend to think Americans and ignorant of Europe (fairly true, I learned alot about Europe); however they really don't know much about America except what they see on TV or there government tells them. The HealthCare debate was taking place during my stay, and it w..."
Thomas G University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"Above all else my study abroad experience was a great lesson in living independently. Living in a house separated from the University was a refreshing break from the ever-present feeling of supervision in most college dorms. For better or worse, I did not feel like, nor was I treated like a "study abroad student." For the most p..."
Matthew F Hamilton College
"The people that you meet here will change your life. Getting to know the city will quickly help you to feel like you've accomplished something grand. Dealing with the constant hassle of the city (the traffic, the pollution, the different customs, etc.) will help you be much more patient. Overall, this experience will change y..."
Felix P SUNY Purchase
"My study abroad experience was totally worthwhile. I had actually done this exact same program back in the Fall of 2008 and loved it so much that I decided to do it again. Studying abroad enriches your life in so many ways that you would have never even dreamed of. I have such a greater appreciation for cultures and other people..."
Amy C SUNY Purchase
"It was absolutely worthwhile. I love the independence I gained by being abroad for nine months, and it made me much more confident about living entirely on my own. I also feel really lucky to have had access to so many cultural and arts activities, and for all the traveling I got to do."
Megan G Wellesley College
"I know that I don't want to study in England, and definitely will not go there for my Masters, but would like to work in London."
Satomi G Wellesley College
"It was absolutely worth it. I got to learn about a different culture, got to learn about a different language, and I became a lot more independant. It was a very good expierence. I feel like I am one step closer to being able to deal with life outside of college. "
Erin D SUNY - Binghamton
"I was looking for a study abroad program that had architecture classes and preferably Spanish ones, too (since I had been taking Spanish and I major in Architecture). Barcelona is known for its art and architecture history and therefore the course content and cultural events I visited were unique for my purposes. The only disadv..."

Alexandra M Wellesley College
"Personally worthwhile (for fun and visits) academically so-so (some classes definitely worthwhile, others the point of showing up was almost just to sign the attendance sheet), German university experience certainly interesting. "
Lina H Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience was everything. It was good and bad, there were happy and sad times. It was not just study abroad, it was my life. I had an incredible time and will be friends with those I met for the rest of my life."
AmandaLee A Clark University
"My study abroad experience was wonderful! I felt like I wasn't just a tourist, like I had a place where I belonged, and people who got to know me and care about me. "
Miriam P Wellesley College
"I can't even explain how wonderful this was. Really, if you have any interest at all, and you're a good student, go for it. It's challenging, but amazing. And do two terms, if you can; just one doesn't feel like enough."
Justine d The College of William and Mary
"Extremely worthwhile. Learned how to depend upon myself and trust in my abilities. Learned how to force myself to get out there. Learned to overcome fears."
Jessica L The College of William and Mary
