Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Coming to Scotland was very worthwhile because of the opportunities I've had to explore the country and the rest of Europe. Although the education was not good, it did leave me plenty of time to do other things! "
Jena B Clark University
"Absolutely I grew as a person; I never had the chance to really travel before but I visited over 12 countries while I was abroad. I met new people and experienced new things, tasted a slew of different foods and went to more museums then I ever thought I'd want to. Learning about new cultures through experience is like nothing I..."

"I became much more independent."
Katie H Bentley University
"I learned so much about myself through studying abroad. Living on my own in a foreign country was an adventure in itself, let alone traveling by myself and then immersing myself into a new culture. It's hard to put into words, but I grew so much as a person and have a whole new perspective on life and culture."
Justine P Ithaca College

Naila H SUNY - Binghamton

"I definitely think this program was worthwhile- it was more of a travel/cultural experience than an academic one, though. I think that living in Australia made me more aware of how weird the United States is in comparison to other developed countries, especially in how we don't take care of our citizens as well as Australia does..."
Grace M The College of William and Mary
"Absolutely! I wouldn't trade my experience for the world. I loved being overseas and exprerience what the world had to offer. "
Rachael H Oklahoma State University - Stillwater

"Studying abroad is essential to the growth of college students, especially those that are looking to enter and become involved in the global community. An invaluable and priceless opportunity and experience."

Daniel T Boston College
"YES! I learned a lot about myself and matured a lot while abroad. I feel like I can handle anything now that I've survived living in another country. I have more confidence, more wordly knowledge, and I appreciate the effectiveness of my home country more. I improved my French and my understanding of French people (as not Parisi..."

"Absolutely. I made many friends that I still keep in touch with and my Japanese ability is years ahead of where it would otherwise be. It was an amazing cultural experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life. I would do this again in a heartbeat."
Trey C Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"It was worthwhile. I would go back in a heartbeat. I learned a lot about other cultures and made a lot of friends."
Kasey B Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"My experience was fantastic. I have more memories, friends and self assuredness. This experience helped put life into perspective more than any college education or years in the work force could."
Laura W Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"If I had to do it all over again, I would not study abroad for an entire year. That being said, if I had to study abroad again, I would chose the same program, because as an academic experience, it was defintely worthwhile. If you want to study abroad for reasons other than to be challenged academically, I would not recommend ..."
Nicole A Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"I think studying abroad gives students an independence. Having to fend for yourself, even if you are with friends, so far from your parents is challenging and exciting! I had to buy a cell phone plan, open a bank account, all things I had not yet done for myself in the US. "
Alice D Boston College
"Everything I've already said. It was expensive, but you have to live it out to the fullest while you're there. If you hold back and stay in a routine, it wont be as memorable."
Anthony L Boston College
"Yes, it was my first time abroad, and is an experience everyone should have. You become a stronger person by traveling and you see things you could never imagine."
James W Boston College
"Living in another country was a great experience. It is important to remember that there is a whole great world outside of the US"
Sam S Boston College
"This program was definitely worthwhile! I learned a lot not only about living in another country, but also living with people from other countries. It was a hard transition because in America things are done very efficiently, while in Malta, everything is just laid back. I don't know that I would study abroad there again, but..."
Ashley L Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"It was worthwhile definitely. I grew so much as an individual. I went through quite a bit emotionally and physically that put me to the test, and I did not have the support or help on hand of people closest to me. I learned that you can never fully plan for what's to come. Life will be faced with many challenges, and the mindset..."
