Direct Enrollment/Exchange

|
Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, Belgium, and International Summer Schools.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"It was the most worthwhile experience of my life. Not only did I greatly improve my Spanish skills, but I had the chance to live like an Argentine for 5 months. The relationships I developed with Argentines expanded my world view, and helped me view history and various world events from a different perspective. Furthermore, s..."

"It was totally worthwile, it was a fantastic experience in which I managed to see a lot of Japan's beautiful and famous sites as well as meet a lot of great people. My Japanese improved as well, and I think that it helped prepare me for the JET program, which I plan on doing once I graduate."
Marcus A Tulane University
"The language pledge is serious, making the overall environment of the program very intense. You choose this program to learn Chinese, not to have a fun study abroad experience. My Chinese speaking ability improved dramatically. However, despite living in Beijing I did not feel I experienced the city. The administrators t..."

"Definitely worthwhile. If I weren't so caught up in things at my home university I would go back and do this same exact program again (and again). Of course, it helped to give me a more global perspective on many things. I feel incredibly enriched and blessed to have gotten to participate."

"I really enjoyed my time abroad. Some of my best experiences came from after the program ended however - I stayed for an extra couple weeks to try to live on my own. I would highly recommend doing so, as it gives you the opportunity to use what you learned from the program and apply it to getting by without much assistance. "

"Even with the parts I didn't like, it was a great and worthwhile experience, as it would have been where ever I went. I went with a positive outlook and I had a positive experience, and I met a lot of amazing people and saw a lot of amazing things."
Kristin M Tulane University
"I would recommend study abroad for everyone. I learned so much in Japan. Not just about Japan but about the world from all the international students I met! You learn so much about how the rest of the world lives. When you're inside America, you think the whole world lives like that but they don't and it's no wonder sometime..."

"I love my study abroad program. I really think it was worthwhile to go abroad. I worked in a 7-11 store while there, and I was able to become friends with fellow co-workers too. There may have been the biggest place I learned culturally. I gained many friends too, and many experiences. "
