With a team of seasoned, dedicated, and forward thinking professionals, GEO aspires to be a leading force in the development of a new approach to global learning, one that offers inspiring challenges and valuable rewards for all players and participants.
GEO currently offers more than 100 programs on five continents during the academic year and summer. At present, program length varies from two and a half to 19 weeks (including fall and spring semester, fall and spring quarter, January term, and summer options). Many of our programs take place in locations off the beaten path, maximizing cultural immersion and ensuring that students never feel like tourists. GEO programs span a wide range of models, including single location and multi-site opportunities, classroom and integrated excursion-based learning, and field schools. GEO designs programs that permit students to satisfy general education, major-specific, and elective credits. Placements in meaningful and mutually beneficial service learning projects and internships are also open to students from a wide variety of majors.
Study Abroad with Global Education Oregon
"I got to see the world for what it was, not what the media told me it was. I will never forget this trip or the information I learned while on it. After studying in Ireland I have decided multiple things. 1.) I will go back to Ireland some day. 2.) My children will study abroad. 3.) I will talk anyone into going if they show any..."

"This program changed the way that I see myself and the way that I see the world. 5 weeks wasn't nearly long enough for me! I could have easily stayed in Ireland for months to follow. I am actually planning a trip back for the upcoming summer. Before going to Ireland I was terrified to travel on my own and now I can't wait to get..."

"It made that place of the world constantly possible to travel to in the future. It helped my learn about what it means to be Irish. It expanded my knowledge of transatlantic history. I learned about Celtic folklore and Irish mythology. And finally, I learned about Tir na nOg, which is a Celtic Heaven."
Justin C Southern Oregon University
"I wanted to experience a world where I could easily blend in while still learning new things. I noticed that the Irish population was very outgoing and started conversations with strangers while waiting in line. This friendly persona has come back with me to my school."

"I gained so much knowledge of the history and culture of Italy. I faced a fear of traveling on my own and was so proud that I took the step to travel and explore a different country and its roots. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity to study abroad...so do it! I met people and learned so much. I absolutely loved it."

"Absolutely. I am so grateful that I was able to have this experience. I definitely grew and learned more about myself. It's one of those things that's very hard to describe to others in a concrete way, but rather must be experienced for one's self. I have always had a passion for travel and this gave me a taste of what it would ..."

"I had a good experience and have no regrets but if I were to do this over again I would do things differently. "
Kaela D Oregon State University
"Absolutely! I gained an appreciation for other cultures that I didn't even realize I was missing. Connecting and befriending people from other cultures was extremely rewarding, and I can say that I miss my life in Athens every single day!"
Hana K University of Oregon
"Studying abroad was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As a historian, I can think of nothing more spectacular than seeing for myself the ruins I have been studying in photos for years. But beyond academics, the program increases awareness of the world as a hole. Seeing what's out there makes it real."
Patrick M Western Oregon University
"Its always worthwhile to spend time in another country, even if its not too different from the U.S. From London it's really easy to get out and see Europe."
John W University of Puget Sound
"I am a new person because of this experience. I see the world differently and I appreciate others in a way I could have never before. I met a Spaniard and dated him while I was in Spain, and it was the most wonderful time of my life. I will always have him as a friend and a reason to go back to Spain, and I wouldn't give that..."
Chelsea W Ball State University
"I learned that the world is very big and takes all kinds to make the world go round. I'm still figuring out what I learned from my experience, but I know the lessons I learned about life will stick with me forever. Studying abroad has made me a stronger person. If I could go back, the only change I would make would be to do even..."
Amanda P University of Portland
"The ability and confidence to function independently in a foreign place, a richer cultural and academic knowledge that cannot be experienced through just travels alone, and the world can be a very beautiful place."

"Loved it. Living abroad really helped me learn more about myself and my place in the world, including how I identify as an American. It couldn't have come at a better time in my life. "Studying abroad in Segovia expanded my world view and exposed me to another culture other than my own. I gained a lot of knowledge through classes and excursions that exposed me to different cultural sites and cities of Spain. This program enabled me to become fluent without any lack of confidence when speaking Spanish."
Jesse S Central Michigan University
"There's learning to behad in every life's situation, so the study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I had some obstacles to overcome throughout my time there, but all the good things outweighed any bad moments."
