"It was completely worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself, my confidence and fear, my clarity of thought and speech, my identity, my patience and humility, and my courage. "
simone.l.warner The University of Texas at Austin
"The most important thing that I learned while abroad was the reality of the Middle East versus what we see in the media. I never once felt in danger or threatened. If anything, I felt at home because of how welcoming and open the people that I met there were. "
sarah.freeman.75054 The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a lot about Berlin and how it is very different compared with the rest of Germany. My classes were good and it was a good learning experience. I don't know that I would go back to Berlin though as it isn't the friendliest place."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"best independent experience i've ever had"
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"The experience was definitely worthwhile. Prior to going abroad I had decent Spanish skills and understanding, but I was always too afraid to speak Spanish aloud, so studying abroad in Spain forced me to speak Spanish all the time and improved my Spanish and confidence! Also, the chance to travel to other countries while you a..."
Andrea M The University of Texas at Austin
"Very much worthwhile, I gained way more than I expected. Each passing day was like a treat; an opportunity to learn something new and see something I've never seen before. I fell in love with every small quality about being abroad. Meeting new people from different backgrounds never bored me and learning about a new tradition or..."

"Living elsewhere changes a person. Paris allowed me to explore my identity and to see the world from another lens. The city (and the people) are intoxicating, passionate, full of culture and history, and kind. I will forever treasure my time in Paris."
Audrey E The University of Texas at Austin
"It was worthwhile, for sure. Classes taken in Spanish are way harder then taking Spanish language classes. Think twice about that."
mheap3 The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned so much more about myself and had the opportunity to travel more than I ever have been able to. Yes, I was frustrated with spanish sometimes and anxious about being around so many Americans, but overall it was an amazing experience to live/learn in such a beautiful country. "
ELYSSE A The University of Texas at Austin
"Oh goodness isn't this an open-ended question. Was it worthwhile? Most definitely yes. What did I gain? Lots of things. I'm sure that if you're reading a review about studying abroad, you already know by now the values in 'broadening your horizons'. And me harping on that will take too long. But I suppose it will happen inevi..."
