"Yes, it was very worthwhile."
Joseph G The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a deeper understanding of the African diaspora and my own ancestry. After learning about Ghanaian culture, I am more apt to believe that it is the country of my ancestors and plan to follow up on this belief by tracing my ancestral lineage. I am considering doing my final internship in Ghana, if a clinical social work..."
Jacqueline G The University of Texas at Austin
"Although there were several difficulties, I am very glad I studied abroad. It was amazing to see the differences between the European system and our own in terms of transportation, politics, social aspects, etc. I really enjoyed the travel and meeting people from all over. I appreciate my life in Austin so much more than I did, ..."
Matt J The University of Texas at Austin
"This experience was very worthwhile. I learned so much about the Asian culture which will significantly help in my future career in the field of Supply Chain Management."
Berkley A The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely worthwhile, more worthwhile than I could have imagined. My understandings, my cultural outlook, etc. expanded greatly, but most importantly I made some lifelong friendships and had a great time along the way."
Trent J The University of Texas at Austin
"This has been a wonderful experience. I am now fluent in French (but will always continue learning and practicing) and I know now more than ever that I want to be a French teacher and possibly even live in France for a period and teach English. I feel that after this experience I have learned to handle problems and complications..."
Jacqueline H The University of Texas at Austin
"Completely worthwhile. I definitely became more independent and more willing to try different things that I wasn't used to. Had to manage my own finances and my time because no one was there to help me. "
Kelly H The University of Texas at Austin
"The best part of the program is that I had the opportunity to travel. Stockholm has little to offer a culturally interested person."
Alex B The University of Texas at Austin
"The experience was life-changing and made me appreciate other cultures and my own a lot more. I've never been prouder to be an American."
Andrea L The University of Texas at Austin
"It has definitely made me want to prioritize traveling and explore the world even more."
Jennifer M The University of Texas at Austin
"I'm glad I did it for the sole reason that I would have always regretted not doing it. Studying abroad did nothing for me except make me truly appreciate my life in the US. I'm so glad to be back and I will never go on a CIEE program again. Please do not contact me regarding these comments (I'm assuming that they're linked to..."
Laura A The University of Texas at Austin

"Very worthwhile"
Audrey M The University of Texas at Austin
"It was very worthwhile for the cultural aspect and improve of my proficiency in a foreign language. I met many great people and came back with great memories. I did not feel like I took anything influential away from my courses and my Spanish class was the most horrible because of the schedule and material. Clicking through a po..."
Margaret Keally H The University of Texas at Austin
"I feel I've wasted 6 months on a program that taught me absolutely nothing that was promised by IFSA-Butler."
Athena E The University of Texas at Austin
"It was very worthwhile. I obtained a better understanding of and respect for the large amount of work that is involved in curating a museum. "
Jacob T The University of Texas at Austin
"absolutely! independence, education, new cultural perspectives, language skills"
Anna L The University of Texas at Austin
"absolutely worth it."
Devon L The University of Texas at Austin
"I loved the program and had independence to do what I wanted, however there were times when I would have preferred to have access to the amenities of arranged programs such as group trips and housing. "
Rebecca W The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes. I am more independent and less afraid to try new things. The thing that stands out most though, is that I am completely an American girl. I don't plan on ever living outside the US and just love how everything is done here as opposed to abroad. I am a person of routine and comfort zones though, so that probably added to my ..."
Hillary R The University of Texas at Austin
"I found that you need to strike a balance of who you make friends with while abroad. It is very easy to only meet other Americans (especially in Ireland because there were so many). However, I felt that being able to meet other international students was very worthwhile because you can talk about how different their culture sh..."
Rachel H The University of Texas at Austin
"No change in plans or interests, but it did give me independence, patience, and improved Spanish (from traveling around Spain, not from Barcelona)"
Morgan D The University of Texas at Austin
"I had a wonderful experience so far! I feel at home here at Cambridge with the other students and the culture. The PKP program advisors are Cambridge Students and they are easy to find and ask questions about anything here. I have been abroad before this, so this was mostly to expand my horizons on my traveling experience. "
Alexa P The University of Texas at Austin
"I think as my trip winds down, although, I have not had the perfect study abroad experience, it has been worthwhile. I think I learned a lot about myself, and it has made me grow. "
