"Yes I found it very worthwhile. My language ability improved dramatically and I gained an understanding of the local culture that would have been impossible had I not gone to Japan. It also gave me a new outlook and forced me to challenge myself by having to use Japanese even when I wasn't fully confident to do so."

"SIT does a great job of providing students with family interaction and educating the participants on historical and current issues relavant to Chile that in some ways apply to most of South America. The opportunity increased my interest in international development work, and the ISP played a large roll in my interests there. I..."

"Yes. A great deal. I wouldn't change one thing about it."

"Yes it was, every time I look back on it I remember how awesome I felt at the time. Go abroad, whether it be Spain, or anywhere for that matter, you won't have this opportunity again so make sure you experience it. You will remember the smaller things in life mean a lot more. "

"Best year of my life. If I had the chance to do it again, I'd do it in a heartbeat."

"I am a stronger, more independent person, and I feel so lucky to have been able to live in Madrid for a year. It's a truly amazing city with extraordinary culture- you'll never go anywhere like it. It's a non-stop lifestyle and the madrileños are the most fun people that I have ever encountered. NYU in Madrid is great, especi..."

"Spending my junior year abroad was arguably the best decision I ever made, and I wouldn't change a thing. I learned so much, and next to none of it was in the class room. Carpe diem!"

"Yes, very worthwhile. My Arabic improved a lot, I made some really good friends, got to know many Moroccans, saw a lot of the country, traveled independently, and overall had a fun, stimulating, beneficial experience. "
Alison N Tufts University
"Absolutely. I never could have imagined what I would find there and I laughed cried and everything in between about everything. Nothing like America which I guess is exactly what I wanted."
Hayley D Tufts University
" I gained a lot of confidence in my French language skills, independence in foreign places (I travelled solo a lot), and some maturity in dealing with situations that I was uncomfortable with. Paris is a wonderful place and I hope I can come back soon."

"I not only got a chance to challenge myself academically, and take mathematics classes which interested me greatly, but also allowed me to travel to countries and places i would normally not have gone to, such as, Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary."

"Yes! I gained insight into the heterogeneity of Chinese culture which is often masked in Western discourses. "

"I'm glad I went, because I feel it forced me to grow up a lot, despite the fact that I already considered myself pretty independent, and I felt like I became much more independent and self-reliant while I was abroad. However, I didn't ENJOY it as much as I would have liked to, I felt like I was just getting by and making the bes..."

"I can't really sum it up. It was really everything I expected it to be. I fell in love with London. I learned so much about every aspect of Shakespeare- text, performance, interpretation, history, you name it. I made some wonderful friends. I did a lot of traveling. I became more confident about traveling on my own. I d..."

"Yes, it was absolutely worthwhile. While I was not always pleased with the program itself, nor with the academics or my homestay, I absolutely loved the city and country I was in. I would definitely return for a longer period of time. I am now more aware of the political, economic and social situation in Argentina and South Amer..."

"My only regret about my semester abroad is that it's over. If I had realized how amazing my study abroad experience was going to be, I would've instead opted for either the spring semester (longer than fall) or the full-year. "

"I feel as though I have become a lot more independent since going abroad, and have added more cultural and world experiences to my life. It was definitely worthwhile, and I would recommend going abroad to anybody who likes experiencing new things and is not afraid to step out of your comfort zone. In the end, it really becomes..."

"It was worthwhile. I grew as person. I became more independent and self-sufficient. Furthermore, my language skills improved dramatically!"

"Yes. It was very worthwhile. I think its great to get away and meet new people (even if they are mostly Americans). I got to travel around and see Australia. The only downside on the whole experience is that I didn't get to meet that many Australians."
Kyle J Tufts University
"Amazing experience. I only wish my french was fluent. I guess I should have stayed a year for that."

"DEFINITELY! I gained a better command of Spanish, a love of Spanish culture, and friends from Spain, America, France, Denmark, North Ireland, and Italy. As cliché as it sounds, I also learned a lot about myself through the way in which I responded to stressful situations or through the way I related to the different people and ..."

"It was very relaxing and I did a lot of cool things. It was a unique experience that I'll probably never have an opportunity to do again. that being said, I am glad to be back home this semester."
