"I greatly improved my Spanish language skills, and I also improved my self-confidence as part of interacting in my second language. It was worthwhile."

"Learned about medical topics and through that gained insight if this was the path for me. I gained travel opportunities and life-long friends and it was worthwhile to experience."
A student Wellesley College
"Primarily, I grew as a Spanish speaker and this alone made the experience worthwhile. I also became more integrated into Spanish culture and my best experience here was learning to make salmorejo and tortilla de patatas from one of my friends' grandparents."

"My junior year abroad has been the most exhilarating and growing experience. Extending my stay at Oxford for the full year was the best decision I made. I tried out boxing, blind wine tasting, rowing, went to a million balls and formals. I learned about friendship and how to cook and to be independent. I traveled during the brea..."

"I really loved the trip to Costa Rica, the excursions, the residential staff, and the program director. My main issue is that I felt trapped in the University of the West Indies, did not enjoy campus life/ the classes/ the academic culture and did not feel integrated into a local community. A homestay may have helped or more ac..."

Meghana L Wellesley College
"I learned that Wellesley is a microcosm of neuroticism and that in general, things are not that deep. I learned to not take everything so seriously all the time and to let myself live. It was very worthwhile."

Alondra P Wellesley College
"It was just a lot of fun and rewarding. I learned all the things people generally learn when they experience new things. I feel that I had a better social life than most people who go abroad in small, non-traditional programs (i.e. it seems like most people who had similarly positive social lives abroad more often went to big pr..."

"It was a major challenge for me, it was the longest I had ever spent truly away from home and my family, and I had never really been independent like that, so I learned a lot about myself and got to really build my belief in my abilities, and my language skills improved exponentially which was so rewarding to see all my hard wor..."

"Yes! I explored so many cities independently as well as grocery shopped and cooked for myself. It was a very formative experience for my personal growth."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that I'm a lot more independent than I thought and became more confident in my ability to start a new life anywhere. It sounded so crazy to move abroad without knowing anyone at all and I was almost dreading it before leaving the US but after having done the experience it feels like less of a big deal and I could see m..."
