"Lots of language progress. But also lots of fun. Also completed a capstone project, and LOTS of travel around China (my favorite part of the whole experience)."

"SO MUCH language learning. completed the equivalent of one year of language in 8 weeks. If you want to really be forced to learn a language, this program is for you. But if you're less familiar with living in a developing country/area, or don't want to deal with a very intense learning curve, I would choose a lighter program."

"I chose IHP Health and Community, because I knew it was the kind of opportunity that I would likely never have again. I think that I grew a lot as person and some pretty incredible friendships. But it's so hard to sum up my experience! I wish I could do it all over again. "

"Definitely worthwhile; showed me where I want to apply to grad school."

Julia P Wellesley College
"I learned more about the people and the local experience of life in the Middle East, (from anecdotes and friends), that I could not have possibly gained in the US. Also, in terms of the people, I more than once learned about the differences in social interaction and how to adapt to fit it. "
Eliza M Wellesley College
"I learned what it is like to be a foreigner and how to both cope with and assimilate into another culture. It helped make me more independent and willing to get outside my comfort zone. I met all kinds of people and saw beautiful places. Definitely a worthwhile experience. "

"Got savvier with money and learned how to travel really well."
A student Wellesley College
"So much. I don't even know where to begin. Totally worthwhile, though it wasn't necessarily the best time for me emotionally to be abroad (my sophomore year was turbulent to say the least). I had a lot of time for self-reflection. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was so worthwhile. I really learned how to be alone as well as how people address climate change issues around the world. "
A student Wellesley College
"Gained new language skills, a degree of independence and sufficiency. It was one of the best experiences I've had."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a lot of confidence as a black woman in the context of America. I can do anything that I set my mind to. This experience was worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a crap ton of Arabic, but more importantly I learned how to be comfortable with my self and my constantly changing, tumultuous surroundings. I'd like to think I became a much stronger, confident, and braver person in Irbid. I came back to America feeling so at peace with everything, and I still carry that sentiment w..."

"I learned a lot about myself in Denmark. My eyes were opened to new career paths and academic interests. It changed my outlook on what I wanted to do and what I thought I needed to do."

A student Wellesley College
"Yes it was worthwhile! I gained a ton of confidence that I've now brought back with me to campus and is helping me deal with adapting to my return from abroad. I discovered a lot about myself, like the things that are important to me (happiness, no stress, friendship, exploration, intellectual freedom, curiosity, health). This e..."

"It was good in a sense that I actually got to know the real side of this city"
A student Wellesley College
"Different approaches to academics, new paradigms, writing style and independent study. At times frustrating with the school's registrar and admin work, but overall a good and rigorous experience at one of France's best universities. "
A student Wellesley College
"The most valuable thing I learned during my abroad experience was learning to be independent. Navigating a large city on my own and exploring unknown things really helped me learn that. It was definitely worthwhile because not only did I experience living like a Londoner but I also got to visit 7 other major European cities in t..."
Karen C Wellesley College
"Oh, it was positively worthwhile and I learned a lot. I gained international experience and some new friends. I learned a lot about a new culture and a little about a lot of other new cultures. I can speak Spanish well now. I'm proud of myself."
Kate C Wellesley College
"I learned more from the people I met and the time I spent traveling than I learned in the classroom. My advice to anybody going abroad is to not stress school and to embrace what a unique opportunity study abroad is, I wish I could do it again. It was absolutely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"This study abroad experience challenged me constantly as I had to constantly adapt to new situations and use a colloquial language that had previously been completely unknown to me. Not only was it excellent to learn about a new culture, it was amazing to be able to participate in it with my host family. I learned more about the..."
