Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici invites you to study abroad in Florence, the capital of the Tuscany region and home to approximately one-third of the world’s art treasures! Living and studying in the birthplace of the Renaissance is an unparalleled experience. Walking to classes in Florence’s historical center, the entirety of which is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, LdM students enjoy jewels of the city, marvel at its beauty, and make meaningful memories every day.

LdM buildings are situated in the San Lorenzo district, next to the bustling market and ancient church. The LdM Florence campus comprises 16 properties peppered among the iconic Duomo, artisanal gelaterias, and the legacies of great scientists and artists of human history. In addition, LdM partners with the University of Florence, enabling students to complete STEM coursework in the same laboratory facilities utilized by Italian university students. LdM students will appreciate a full range of facilities: Wi-Fi equipped classrooms, specialized art and design studios, modern culinary labs, a courtyard garden, a library, and a computer center. In addition, the always delicious LdM Cafeteria offers affordable meal plans, frothy cappuccinos, and a cozy space where students can gather between classes.

LdM Florence's interdisciplinary curriculum allows students to deepen their understanding of chosen fields of study, extend their personal interests, and explore the multifaceted connections among their courses. At LdM, students can take advantage of over 500 courses that range across the humanities, creative arts, design fields, social sciences, gastronomic and culinary arts, and Italian language and culture.

While in Florence, students choose courses from a wide array of disciplines: Italian Language; Italian Culture; Italian Gastronomy and Culture; Ancient Studies; Anthropology; Art History; International Business; Communications; Environmental Studies and Geography; Gender Studies; History; Literature; Philosophy; Political Science and International Studies; Psychology; Religious Studies; Sociology; Writing; Film and Media Arts; Painting, Drawing, and Mixed Media; Performing Arts; Photography; Printmaking; Restoration; Sculpture and Ceramics; Architecture; Fashion Design, Marketing, and Merchandising; Graphic Design; Interior Design; Jewelry Design; Nutrition; Biological Sciences; Chemistry; and Mathematics.

LdM Schools present in Florence are: the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; the School of Italian Language and Culture (courses in this school are taught in Italian); the School of Creative Arts; the School of Design; the School of Nutrition, Italian Gastronomy and Culture; and the School of Science and Mathematics.
