Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Gosh it I could still afford to be abroad I would be. I improved my Spanish 10X. Have now had the opportunity to experience a new culture and appreciate some of the things I have and now know some of the things I want to include. Definately have the travel bug now. Learned so much about independence by going alone."
Jennifer C Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"My favorite thing about my experience was being able to travel all over Europe fairly easily. It is expensive to be in different country, but if you budget well, you will be amazed at the places you can go and things that you can see. I really appreciated that I was able to enjoy the aspects of a different country and was able..."
Carolyn S Oklahoma State University - Stillwater

"Most definitely. It's the best experience I've had in my life because of the freedom and responsibilities that came with living by myself in a strange country. I lived with strangers, cooked my own food, and navigated a confusing new social environment while making friends and exploring the beauty of a truly spectacular countr..."

"It was worthwhile overall, because I made some very close friends both British and American (and French). I figured out my identity more and what I want to do in life, and I gained a whole new dimension to my sense of aesthetics. It also helped me to be more confident when I went abroad again to France."

"I am very glad I was able to go to Zhuhai because it really opened my eyes to a lot of new things about the world that I think only living in China one can see. It was not always easy and the vast differences culturally were somewhat of a struggle. But overall I am so glad I went and I recommend it to anyone who has an open mind..."
Emily T Hamline University
"Very worthwhile - I feel much more confident in my ability to handle new situations, learned more about an exciting new culture, refined my language skills, and made WONDERFUL friends who I still keep in touch with two years later. It was excellent, despite some of the programs imperfections. "
Alexandra B The College of William and Mary
"I would go it again as much as I could if I had the money. I can't say enough good things about the people I met, the places I went and everything I gained. While I am poor and trying to get settled back into American life, I find I have to actively stop myself from thinking about everything that had just happened in my life. ..."
