Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"How to live on my own, cook, buy and sell a car, explore new places "
A student Middlebury College
"Overall, I do not regret attending this program. It was not the extremely exciting and life-changing experience that some students report from study abroad experiences. It felt like a realistic experience. Ups and downs during and reflecting. "
Allyson Mollett Berea College
"I learned to identify the vast majority of the macroscopic things living on Svalbard including plants, invertebrates, birds and, of course foxes and reindeer. The opportunity to live in and study in the arctic was rare and unique - not something I could have done if I hadn't gone or likely will have an opportunity to do again - ..."

"I gained a lot of experience living in a foreign country where you do not speak the local language and need to adapt to different customs and social standards. It was entirely worthwhile and still have not stopped talking about it. "

A student Middlebury College
"I learned more about living as an independent person, especially living in a small city; there was an emphasis on exploration and discovery that I often had to do while on my own. While there were ups and downs, the experience was definitely worth while. "
A student Middlebury College

"It was definitely worthwhile. "

"I learned how to function largely on my own without the safety net of my support systems from home and from Wellesley. While certainly worthwhile, my own mental preparation was lacking and detracted from my experience. However, I learned a lot about myself and my priorities. As a result of my study abroad experience, I have beco..."

"I gained a lot of self confidence, personal awareness, knowledge about what I have to do and what I'm willing to do to stay fit and healthy, and a general idea of what I may want to do with my life. "

"It was interesting to see how big universities run classes. It was also interesting to be in a co-ed school. My instructors were really excellent. I wish that they classes had met more often so I could've learned a bit more. "

"I had a good time in London, lots of art galleries, plays, musicals. Loved that. Also London is very student friendly, there are a lot of student discounts. UCL was fine but did not quite meet my expectation."

"I learned how to be more independent since I had to live by myself (with other suite mates), cook for myself, and take responsibility for my own schedule. I also learned a lot in my classes at SOAS which I never would have learned at Wellesley. "
