Study Abroad with DIS - Study Abroad
"Very worthwhile. It was still a very Westernized experience in a European capital, but Copenhagen and its people have a quirkiness and lifestyle that cannot be found elsewhere. It didn't change any of my future plans, but it did allow me to take a more proactive role in my life (social and academic), to gain independence and to ..."

"Living in Scandinavia definitely has given me insight and a better understanding of a completely different political system and manner of living than the US. Scandinavians are also very sensitive to weather and their architecture and design reflects this reaction to environmentalism. The AD program itself has helped me re-affir..."

"I came to Denmark with what I now see was a skewed view of the world. I realized how uncultured I really was at often felt embarrassed when the Danes knew more about political on goings in my own country than I did. It was an eye opening experience. The Danes are also a very honest, trusting and genuine people. I loved every minu..."

"Studying abroad was one of the best things I have ever done. It opened my eyes more than I could have ever imagined and allowed me to cross the boundaries of my own cultural norms and explore something entirely different and foreign. I now have the travel bug; I want to do it again and again and see the whole world. Copenhagen w..."

"Going abroad helped me realize that I want to be able to travel more in the States because there are so many places in America that I haven't been to. But of course, I want to return to Europe as well!"

"It was extremely worthwhile!! I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I had never been out of the United States and it really showed me how different the world really is. I loved seeing how relaxed and at ease the citizens of Denmark really are and it showed me why Danes are the happiest people in the world. I made some gr..."

"My study abroad experience was worthwhile. I learned how to live independently, how to live in a foreign city, how to travel in cities and use public transportation. I absolutely feel more culturally aware and more sensitive towards people everywhere. "

"My experience at DIS was probably one of the highlights of my college life. I made amazing friends through my classes and traveling, had a great relationship with my host family, and fell in love with Copenhagen. Because Copenhagen is not a touristy city, I truly felt immersed in the culture and by the end of the semester I felt..."

"This is a really wonderful program and Copenhagen is such a fun city. The Danes are super nice, and they all speak flawless English. Travel out of Copenhagen is a little more difficult than maybe from other places in Europe like Paris or Berlin, but it's such a nice, hidden treasure that makes it worth the extra money. Also, the..."

"Yes---traveling was very rewarding and DIS does give you three weeks so that was very nice. Copenhagen is a beautiful, amazing city and I'm really glad that I studied there. Danish is difficult to learn and not necessary to learn because all Danish people speak English as well--so don't take Danish unless your university requi..."
