USAC is a program provider offering 56 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Research, and Online Program abroad programs in 24 countries such as Chile, The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Japan.
The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) has been providing students with quality study abroad programs for over 30 years. USAC is a non-profit, university-based organization with 53 programs in 28 countries. USAC offers summer, winter, semester, and yearlong program options. We pride ourselves on providing well-rounded, academically sound and credible programs in non-traditional locations or in unique parts of more traditional places. By choosing a USAC program, you have flexibility in the length and time of your study (short-term summer or January programs from three to ten weeks, to semester, trimester, or year options) and a wide range of courses to choose from, plus small class sizes, a multitude of disciplines taught in English, and language study at any level of proficiency from beginning to advanced and with no language prerequisite. Many of our locations have the option of intensive language study, where you can earn up to two years-worth of credit in one semester. USAC alumni give our programs a 94% recommendation rate. USAC is honored to be recognized as a Top Study Abroad Provider and Organization by our friends GoAbroad and Go Overseas for 2019.

"I have always wanted to study abroad in Japan and after doing it I am going back to work after I graduate. One year is simply not long enough. If you have the chance to study abroad, definitely take it. "

"The Bilbao program is simply amazing. The directors and staff made me feel like it was my home away from home. They are the most helpful, supporting, and kindest people I think I have ever met. The location of housing in Bilbao in unbeatable and the places around town are beatiful. The combination of such a great group of dir..."

"The experience was definately worthwhile. I would recommend going somewhere as different from what you're used to as possible. Being somewhere with a different culture and language is very eye-opening."
Mary J Boston University
"An important gain for me was a confidence that I can get through difficult times anywhere in the world. I gained the knowledge that I can learn another language, I can interact with people from other cultures and can even be adopted into the culture itself. I have gained a love for Chile that will lead me to living there in the ..."

"I feel that my educational experience is richer and I am more enlightened by the reality of Globalism. I saw first hand how interrelated our "worlds" are such as business. I also learned of a unique culture and am a more well rounded person because of those experiences. My Spanish has improved greatly and I not only know it but ..."

"I learned a lot, and want to go back as soon as possible. But I'm tired of writing about what I can't put down in words, so I'll leave you to your own decision and my extreme advice to go and experience it yourself."
Clinton M University of Florida
"I absolutely loved studied abroad and very glad that I decided to go to Cork. If I had the change to go again, I would in a heart beat. "
Elizabeth B Mount Union College
"I absolutely loved my study abroad experience! I had so much fun, met so many awesome people, and saw so many interesting things. I cannot wait to go back and am thinking about studying abroad again. I recommend studying abroad to anyone. I have such a different perspective on the world now. "
Amanda D Southern New Hampshire University
"I loved my study abroad experience so much that I actually returned a year later for another semester with USAC. I then returned home to the US, but still had that longing that so many of us feel for Spain after spending time here. So I returned once again to teach English at an elementary school and am now going on my second ye..."

"I would say that most of the knowledge and experience I gained from my time abroad came from my trips on the weekends. It was the best experience of my life, but I don't think the program itself contributed a lot to that (it also didn't detract too much from it). Even though I attended classes and got decent grades and actually ..."

"For those of you reading this, I cannot advise you enough to consider traveling abroad--whether it be for a year, a week, or a lifetime. Seeing the world from a different locale is a heady feeling, especially when you can experience it through study abroad. It reminds you that we humans have so many things in common, despite our..."

"I still tell people that my study abroad experience was the best time of my life. It was great to study but still have so many great opportunities to travel and see Europe! If you are frugal, your money will go a long way in taking you anywhere and everywhere you want to go. I recommend study abroad to everyone I know. USAC was ..."

"Because of studying abroad in Italy, I have decided to continue with learning Italian and hopefully live in Italy again. I would like to live abroad for my job and I've decided to get a graduate degree in international diplomacy or relations so I can help other Americans deal in a compassionate and understanding way towards peo..."

"to answer this question, i would have to write pages. not only was my study abroad time worthwhile, but it entirely changed my life. i have a new perspective that still resonates just as strongly a year later and about 40 people that will stick with me for a lifetime. one of the most important things i learned here was to slow d..."

"This experience really helped me grow up. I had never lived on my own and this experience made me figure out how to do that and I made great friends!"
Megan M University of Idaho
"Studying abroad was the best time of my entire life. It influenced me to receive an International Business Certificate. The culture changed my style and my view of America/other countries. The people I met are some of my best friends today. I had an absolute wonderful time abroad and would redo the whole program again if I c..."

"My study abroad program was very worthwhile. I am now aware of how another country lives and what they value in their life, which is different than what we value, in the US. I gained a positive knowledge about a group of people that have a negative light in the US. They were very nice and helpful with me. My French language ..."

"When I arrived back at home I instantly felt like I had left a small part of me elsewhere. It was so rewarding to share a month of my life with people that were there only to help me grow as a student and to make my life comfortable while there. I would love to return as soon as I can and eventually travel Europe. I had more Spa..."

"Of course I had a great time because I was in Italy. However, I had to spend so much money in order to go and I didn't learn very much (only the things I taught/practiced myself). I wish that I would've found my own school and studied abroad as an exchange student, living with a family, so that I truly could've made the most of ..."

"It's been two years since I studied in Pau and it still feels like yesterday. I met some great people there, two of which I traveled around Europe with again after graduation. I added an international business focus to my major upon returning from abroad, and I am still actively learning French! :) "
AA B California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
"It was definitely worthwhile, if you have the opportunity with your parents consent to study abroad you absolutely have to! Plus the friends you make, as corny as this sounds, will last forever as will the most wonderful memories. It's all about what you make it so make sure to live it up."
carmen L California State University - Chico
"I fell in love with Spain, its culture, its people... I am trying to find my way back. It opens your eyes to a new lifestyle and you decide what to make of your experience.."
