"I learned that I am thankful for the university of Texas and all that it gives me."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned to be more independent, patient, humble, and adventurous. Going abroad forced me to become more adventurous and that was good for me. I think it was worthwhile for sure. "
Asma A The University of Texas at Austin
"While in Victoria, I was able to learn how to be truly on my own (and love it!) and connect with nature in a completely different way. I was asked several times why I would want to study in Canada, since it's basically the same as the USA. I found this to be completely untrue--they are different in many ways. I learned about dif..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Gaining confidence in my spanish skills was my biggest gain. I also learned how to travel cheaply."
Tyrah D The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a new sense of independence that I believe I did not have prior to my exchange abroad. I was able to remove myself from what was my norm and allow myself to grow. It was beyond worthwhile. Giving yourself the opportunity to experience a new world teaches loads about yourself and offers you the opportunity to explore and..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"In all honesty, this program was a degree requirement."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Studying abroad definitely made me realize what is (and is not) important to me in life. I met so many different types of people and got to travel to 11 countries over the semester. Living in a slower-paced place also made me much less stressed about life because I had so much less to worry about."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I loved being abroad. Arcadia was helpful. Traveling made everything beyond worth it"
Alexandra M The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned to be more independent, more careful with budgets, how to get used to a new environment faster, how to travel more efficiently, gained more recipes, met people from all over the world and made many international friends."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a deeper understanding of the people while I was there. I learned so much about the culture in Hong Kong and even learned some of the language. It was a great experience and definitely worthwhile. "
Dominique M The University of Texas at Austin
"Definitely worthwhile. I learned so much about Prague, Czech Republic, and the surrounding countries. The film school was amazing, the professors all very successful and experienced. And the films the local students were making were very impressive, overall a very impressive film scene happening in Prague. I made new friends and..."
Mariana G The University of Texas at Austin
"It was absolutely worthwhile for me. This campus has such an interesting variety of students from different places and each student is driven and knowledgable about the focus of the university, the Middle East and Mediterranean. I spent most of my time with other exchange students from elsewhere but still spent many events with ..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Although most of my classes were in English, what I found most enriching was the fact that most of life was spent immersed in the language and culture. However, Taiwan is extremely globalized and has the availability to lead students down a path where they can avoid speaking any Chinese at all. This is a detriment. I realized th..."

"You eventually end up learning that Western Europe is different, not necessarily better; you look that there are slight cultural differences among developed nations, thanks to globalization. You learn a lot about yourself and where you stand morally. "
Xandro V The University of Texas at Austin
"Studying Abroad is awesome. You realize there is so much more to learn and experience. You meet so many people and become part of a whole new culture that slowly becomes your own. When you come back, you are a new person. "
genessis o The University of Texas at Austin
"It was definitely worthwhile. It was my second time doing a study abroad program in Copenhagen and I didn't know I would continue to learn so much more about the city and Danish culture. Despite the expensive living conditions, as you learn more about the Danish welfare and political system, you grow to understand how applicable..."
Mary C The University of Texas at Austin
"Besides gaining amazing friends, I also learned how to travel independently. Prior to this, I had always traveled with my family or friends but during my stay, I was able to explore on my own. I traveled to Chile and Argentina all by myself and met people with incredible stories from all over the world! I also learned how to man..."
Andrea P The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned that I would like to live in Barcelona upon graduation and I also learned about so many different cultures by traveling on the weekends. I would definitely recommend studying abroad, because it is the only time you will be able to travel to so many places for such a low cost. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"The experiences I gained as an actor made my experience worthwhile."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained so much confidence in my Chinese, refined my understanding of the culture and politics, became familiar with the nuances of Chinese culture, made so many friends international and local, and was able to travel and soak up China as best I could. My personal growth was also highlighted in leadership skills and networking ..."
Hannah C The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely. You learn so much about the history, politics and the local scene and culture. Sounds cliche but its not, you really do learn. "
Jared A The University of Texas at Austin
"I found out more about who I am as a being. I learned how I interact with people and relate with myself. This will be one of the times in my life that I will always look back on and smile. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"For my major, I think it would have been better for me to go straight into the LCF study abroad program than through Arcadia. I have to take a class that I didn't need and I only used Arcadia for the internship which I could have done myself."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how well socialism works"
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned so much about other cultures and how unique and different every culture is. I became much more global from this experience. It was worthwhile."
