University Information
The University of Maine, founded in 1865, is the state’s premier public university, located in the town of Orono. As Maine’s land-grant university and the flagship institution in the University of Maine System, it is among the most comprehensive higher education institutions in the Northeast, attracting students from across the U.S. and more than 60 countries. It currently enrolls 11,250 total undergraduate and graduate students who can directly participate in groundbreaking research working with world-class scholars.

University of Maine Peer Advisors are available to answer your questions. Drop-in advising without an appointment is available: Monday through Friday at 11am to 3pm in 240 Estabrooke Hall. You can also connect with a Mentor who has studied abroad in the same location or through the same program.
