"I would definitely say my study-abroad experience was worthwhile. I learned a lot about another culture and way of life. I made friends (both foreign and American) and got to see many things I never would have otherwise. I also gained a deeper appreciation for my ability to communicate in my native language and for my own cultur..."

"Yes--- my study abroad experience allowed me to contextualize my study of the Middle East and North Africa as well as further improve my language abilities."
Deirdre O Wellesley College
"Even though I was bothered by many aspects of the program, I ultimately learned a lot from it academically and personally. I already had international exposure and had traveled extensively, but living in Brazil made the experience entirely different. I am more aware now of justice and political issues that I didn't pay attention..."
Claire d Wellesley College
"I looked at it more as a personal growth type of experience. I realized what I wanted to do with my life and discovered other outlooks on life. I also met others who had similar and not so similar passions. As cliche as it sounds, it really did open my eyes to other interests and experiences."
Lily Shin-Li D Wellesley College
"I learned a ton about Mexican culture and really changed many of my views about the importance of family/friendship. I had truly beautiful experiences and especially appreciated the chance to have discussions/debates with Mexican students about politics or activism. It was totally worthwhile and I would love to return to Puebl..."

"My Spanish improved significantly, I learned a lot about Spanish culture, I learned to be more independent, I didn't travel to many other countries but I had a blast travelling within Spain. It has made me even more fascinated with what I am learning and what I have learned within my Spanish major. "
Stephanie Q Wellesley College
"Of course! I am still processing everything, so I don't really know what I have learned about myself through this experience yet, but I definitely now have a more in-depth understanding of Korean culture, Korean history, Korean politics, and just the psyche of the Korean people. I understand why the people do what they do or bel..."

Kristen F Wellesley College
"I would definitely regret not coming to Japan when I had the chance, so I'm glad I went through with it and spent a semester in Tokyo. At times, I feel like it was an academic waste of a semester, but outside of the academics, I've made a lot of memories that have made it worthwhile. After being in Japan, I feel like its unneces..."
Alicia B Wellesley College
"Most definitely. I now know that I need to live in a large city full of history. I know what kind of people I want to be friends with in the future. I have friends all over Europe and am much more aware about politics and cultural interplay. "

"I would do it again in a heartbeat. I miss parts of it and the people I met everyday and I can't wait to go back and visit sometime in the future. "
Katie S Wellesley College
"I jumped off waterfalls in Zambia and pet crocodiles in Botswana. I dealt with issues of rape, pregnancy and hate crimes and have come out of the experience a new person. Maybe a bit more jaded, but also a bit wiser about the world. Go on this program if you want to change your life."
Sophie G Wellesley College
"I learned quite a bit about myself and Egyptian culture on this program. I have a much better understanding of what it means to be a foreign woman in the Middle East, and that, to me, was an unparalled experience. I also had the priviledge to actually talk to Egyptians in their native language. I got to know Egyptians in a way t..."
Esra Y Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I am more culturally aware but I didn't have the best academic experience. More importantly, I learned so much about myself and did start to question my academic interests."
Zakiyyah S Wellesley College
"I can't say that my academic plans have changed. I went to Mexico because it already fit into my academic interests. I have always been fascinated by Mexico-US relations so PMCSP was perfect!
