CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations by sponsoring a wide variety of opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences. CIEE helps people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world, and contributes to a more peaceful global community by humanizing international relations.
CIEE partners with overseas universities to provide direct matriculation options, creates CIEE courses to add to the offerings, and staffs each Study Center with CIEE-employed Resident Staff who provide co-curricular activities and around-the-clock student services. We offer quality academics with opportunities for cultural engagement such as excursions, homestays, volunteer opportunities, and internships to provide the highest quality study abroad experiences.

"I would definitely regret not coming to Japan when I had the chance, so I'm glad I went through with it and spent a semester in Tokyo. At times, I feel like it was an academic waste of a semester, but outside of the academics, I've made a lot of memories that have made it worthwhile. After being in Japan, I feel like its unneces..."

"Being in Ghana really made me appreciate life and see what is really important. Children in Ghana have so little, yet they are so happy. The people are welcoming, helpful, and generous. "I gained a beginners grasp of the Arabic language. A much greater understanding of Arab and Muslim culture and how they view the rest of the world. I got to see many places that few Americans will ever travel to; Beirut and Damascus for example. I would be very interested in a return visit either to work or visit. "

"I learned a lot about Japan, but the main benefit was the reaffirmation of what is important for me to have in my life back home. For me personally, I came to realize the importance of family and a solid foundation on which to enjoy life rather than getting caught up in the rat race that is Tokyo. "
