Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"There are so many things I learned about art, Italian culture, history, architecture, and the list could go on and on. It was defiantly worthwhile. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go and that I went through this program. "
A student Santa Reparata International School of Art
"SRISA taught me about loving another culture, using another language, and appreciating the world around me... but that is not all. My view of art changed. I learned to see art in a new way. "
Emily W Eastern Connecticut State University
"I learned so much about the world, myself, and others. Living in a new country and travelling to many others really opens your eyes and you understand so much more of the world. It's also made me fall in love with London and I plan on moving there in the coming years."

"Not only did I become further educated in fashion during my time abroad, but I learned more of myself. Countless memories, experiences to last a lifetime, and lessons learned is what I achieved by studying abroad. I would definitely do it again, if given the chance. "
A student Fontbonne University
"I think the one thing I will always take with me a new sense of Adventure. Germany had so many places to see and explore, and the country is so old, that it was easy to get excited about the age of things around me. I joined the IUBH Men's Rugby team the Barbarians, and it was one of the best decisions I made when I was there. ..."

"I learned how to put myself out there, how to take more risks, how to truly hold my ground while conversing with people who have written books on what I am studying. I learned that it was perfectly normal to go to black tie events in castles, how to punt, how to perfectly balance 2 essays a week with 5 nights out. I learned that..."

"I gained friends and the ability to look at things from a different perspective. Like I mentioned before, there is not only an American way to do things. My experience also taught me to take myself a little bit less serious, which I desperately needed. American universities are some of the best and most rigorous, which is great,..."

"Honestly it comes down to being reliant on yourself and confident enough to just throw yourself out there and not be afraid of making mistakes. It sounds easy, but at the end of the day it's much harder than you think. It was the best year of my life and I've already booked a flight to go back during break"
ryan m The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to manage my own money, to find my way and read maps, to keep myself safe while still being able to make friends, and to generally be more independent. I would consider those things very worthwhile."
A student Trinity University
"I gained a broader sense of the world and the roll that I continually choose to play in it. I learned that there are so many lives out there that we will never get to see or experience, but as this is so, we all have the capability to see and experience as much as we can (especially as students) and I think it is important as yo..."
