Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"My experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned so much from living abroad. I understood what it was like to feel like a foreigner and to have trouble with the local language, so I feel like I am now more patient with foreigners in America. I learned so much about Japanese culture and have also had the experience to go to Chi..."

"Everything was indeed worthwhile because it all became a wonderful thing. Even getting lost or feeling unsure of things was nice because it was good to see a side of myself that could only be there when I was lost or unsure. I enjoyed that and for that reason I would do it again and go somewhere new next time. "

"The differences in Costa Rica and the United States inspired various writings, and stimulated ideas. It gave me the belief that travelling isn't nearly as hard as I initially thought. "Will definitely want to work and live in China in the future. If not permanently, for a long time. It is hard being away from home sometimes, but totally worth it! If you want to test yourself and learn about yourself, go to China!"

"The study abroad trip to Paris was probably the best decision I've made in my college career. It was a way to see the world and understand how other cultures handle academic challenges. I already knew before going that I wanted to move to Paris, and now that I have a general idea of the city, I have no fears of moving there."

"My study abroad experience was not at all what I expected. I didn't exactly enjoy my classes, but I found that my life outside of school contributed more to my education rather than in it. I was able to learn a lot about the culture just by living and wandering around Tokyo and I came back much more mature and equipped with new ..."

"I think it was worthwhile in that I learned a lot about myself and what I DONT like, and I am now completely fluent in German. I suppose I am adopting a buddhist approach that growth comes from suffering. I know how to deal with extreme unhappiness, I know how to commit myself to a project which seems absolutely impossible. I'm ..."

"My class was made up of about thirty people from all over the world, people from as close as Germany, or as far as China and Australia. In the beginning of the classes, we were all a bit awkward around each other. We were not entirely sure what to do, or what to avoid doing. But people are people wherever you go. The most of e..."
