"I've become much more culturally aware of myself as a U.S. citizen. My Medical Practice and Policy Program has significantly impacted my perspective on health care globally. I have a much broader perspective on the world which I now want to expand even more!"
Kelsey N DePauw University
"It was worthwhile...I learned a lot and am I more evolved young woman now. However the people on my program were all from the East Coast and were wealthy, privileged and apathetic. I had a hard time connecting with them. The Danes were also challenging to get to know. My living situation was isolating and disappointing. "
Claire P Pacific Lutheran University
"Yes! I learned a lot about myself, education, and Europe in general, and would love to do it all over again!"
Kyla B Wellesley College
"It was the best thing I've ever done for myself."
Allison F Providence College
"It was worthwhile but I wish I had gone to a different program."
Molly S Wellesley College
"Very Much !!"
Eva D Lynn University
"It made me realize how much I want to travel more and learn about new cultures. It also made to gain more knowledge about Europe and European issues such as immigration. "
Devika W Wellesley College
"Living in Denmark has opened up the entire world for me, as I have visited dozens of countries since then with the skills and confidence that I gained there as a study abroad student. I plan to work in study abroad specifically because I want to enrich students' lives as much as I felt like DIS enriched mine. My host family is a..."
Sara B American University
"Absolutely worthwhile. I am really happy I chose Denmark because it allowed me to see a part of the world that not too many people see or even think to see. It was really neat having essentially one study abroad program within Copenhagen, allowing us to have 700 kids in our program and have a unifying thing! "
Kylie M Providence College
"Academically, it was a great experience, it wasn't really a 'break' from school like some other programs though. You really are challenged, but in a good way that makes you think in different ways and on different levels. Socially, I met some really great people, maybe not friends for life, but we got along and had some really..."
Emily S Providence College
"Definitely!"
Yi W DePauw University
"It was worthwhile but when I reached Denmark I realized that it didn't fit my personality at all. It really felt like the only kind of social interaction I could have with other students was to go out at night and drink. That is not what I like to do so it was hard to interact with people my age. Not anybody else's fault othe..."
Kelsey H Pacific Lutheran University
"I still haven't fully grasped all the ways I've changed while I've been away, but I know that nothing can begin to compare with my experience abroad, and I fully believe that everyone should make an effort to do any study abroad program they're interested in. "
Colleen R Providence College
"Absolutely"
Katie G Providence College
"I gained insight to who I am as a being while not only learning about Denmark but America as well. I enjoyed the classes and the culture and feeling like an adult. I was able push my boundaries and experience the world."
Ashleigh D Pacific Lutheran University
"Yes! I experienced a different way of living that will definitely stay with me for the rest of my life. The program also helped me realize more specifically what I'm interested in academically. "
Sarah M Wellesley College
"I don't even know where to being. Definitely changed my perspective on the world, different cultures, and my own life and experiences in New Orleans. I don't think it altered my academic path or future plans, except for many more visits to Copenhagen in the future. "
Anonymous A Tulane University
"Yes- but Tulane needs to change their housing options! "
Carolyn C Tulane University
"When I first arrived three months ago, I had little confidence in my ability to thrive in a new environment that required a large amount of independence, maturity and willingness to take risks. Moving to Copenhagen for four months threw me far out of my zone of comfort and familiarity. Beginning when I stepped on the plane in..."
Linnea J Wellesley College
"Yes. The experience of living in another country is invaluable. It teaches you how to challenge yourself and be adaptable "
Emily R Tufts University
"Absolutely, I would not have given this for anything else in the world. I had such a great experience and want to share this experience with fellow students who are planning on studying abroad"
Alex C Providence College
"Definitely! I learned a lot about what makes Denmark such a good country and how America could learn from it. I learned about sexuality in Denmark through one of my classes and I got to have siblings for a while (I'm an only child), which made me very happy"
India K Goucher College
"More than worthwhile!"
