"I gained more confidence and became more out-going."
Lauren E Barnard College
"I enjoyed studying abroad, but it did not change me or my future plans. I had lived abroad before and had had many of the experiences of learning to travel and be self-sufficient in a foreign country already. Barcelona was very touristy and very Americanized feeling and though there were a lot of places to seek culture, I did no..."
Claire G The University of Texas at Austin
"My German improved a lot (although not as much as it could have) and I had a chance to take classes in my major from a new perspective. It was my first time in Europe and I can't complain about that. I just wish I had had more time to travel and soak up everything. "
Shmillip S Tulane University
"This was my first time truly on my own and in a country with such a truly different culture. It was eye-opening and great fun. It has made me consider working or studying abroad again for a short time."
Chloe W The University of Texas at Austin
"I loved studying in Nantes. My host family was wonderful and I met some interesting people both in the city and in the program itself. My speaking ability improved greatly, which was my main purpose in studying abroad."

"YES. I am now a huge study abroad advocate. I think that everyone should live in a different culture, because you learn a lot about yourself, about your relationships, about your goals, and about other people. I am looking for a way to move back to Europe after college, and would love to live there permanently. Living in Par..."

"Yes! I learned so much about the Spanish people and culture and my Spanish also improved to near fluency. I now want to return to work in Spain or a Latin American nation."
Sarah L Trinity University
"My study abroad experience was fabulous! I could not have asked for a better time or city to live in. My eyes were opened to another culture that began to feel like my own, despite the differences from my culture. I grew an even deeper appreciation for the Spanish language and have gained the confidence to use it much more of..."
Madeline E The University of Texas at Austin
"It was worthwhile and definitely once in a lifetime. I grew in different ways than I thought I would. I didn't learn as much Spanish as I was hoping but I grew as a person and have a better world outlook. "
Margaret B
"I had the time of my life in Italy. I learned to appreciate my heritage, while also gaining perspective on my life in America. The confidence I gained from being able to survive on my own in a foreign culture made a great impact on my future plans and decisions. I chose to travel abroad again and again, at every opportunity, ..."

Elizabeth W The Catholic University of America
"It was definitely worthwhile. I loved it, and I want to go back. I only wish my program had had other international students instead of just Americans."
Chelsea C The University of Texas at Austin
"I thoroughly enjoyed my study abroad experience in Barcelona. I would not trade the experiences I had for anything. I feel that I returned from Barcelona with a greater knowledge of the Spanish culture and with another glimpse at the outside world. The time I spent abroad influenced me to want to spend more time abroad in the fu..."
Elizabeth C The Catholic University of America
"The study abroad experience was absolutely worthwhile. Absolutely everyone should study abroad if they can. It expands your horizons, helps you grow up, and shows you things you never thought you would see. "
Philip S Trinity University
"I honestly learned a lot about myself while being in Japan. I learned what part of me I felt was truly defining and what part existed in the context of American culture. I also learned a lot about the American mindset by being surrounded by a completely different. I would say more, but that would spoil it for those of you hop..."
Nauder N The University of Texas at Austin
"I really enjoyed my experience. I learned a great deal about other cultures and people and that the world is a lot bigger than I previously thought but that people are not so different despite cultural and geographically difference."
Meredith V Trinity University
"Yes it was worthwile, made me more adaptable"
Ashley S The University of Texas at Austin
"Definitely worth while and I would definitely choose it again, simply because it was the only Japan program offered at UT for the summer. My experience was amazing only because of when I went out and explored the city; not because of all the little things the program itself did for me. But, the program gave me an excuse to g..."

"My experience has made me much more culturally aware and made me realize not to make generalizations or stereotypes and people of different culture. I was able to travel to different countries and see beautiful museums which I would not have been able to do unless abroad, that contributed to my experience greatly. My art history..."

"Americans are very money driven. In Spain they balance work and play much better. They live less extravagantly, but spend less time at work. My study Abroad experience was extremely worth while, and that's really an understatement. I loved seeing that their are other ways to live than the way we do at home. It's amazing how diff..."
